The World`s Aircraft Market Needs up to 800 Be-200 Amphibious Airplanes
The Deputy General Director of the Russo-Swiss OOO Beta Air joint enterprise, Vladimir Serov, has cited estimates of the demand for the Be-200 amphibious airplane on the worldwide aviation market - the need in the world for the civilian variants and modifications of the Be-200 is estimated at approximately 400 aircraft, and on the order of another 500 airplanes in patrol and antisubmarine variants and the like are needed for the power structures. That is, the total need is estimated at approximately 800 aircraft.
According to Vladimir Serov, the data cited is based on marketing research and expert estimates of the Italian Alenia firm, the annual Janes` and one English company. At the same time it is a question of the potential demand only for a specific type of airplane - the Be-200. The source emphasized that sales of the first 48 Be-200 airplanes in any variants and modifications will compensate fully for the expenses for scientific, research and experimental design work on the airplane, which is very important for the realization of the program.
Be-200 airplanes are built at the Irkutsk aviation plane, which is executing the first order for the delivery of seven airplanes of this type for the Russian Federation Ministry of Emergency Situations with a total cost of the state contract on the order of four billion rubles.
