я всегда был неравнодушен к китайцам и тому что они делают, но одно фото вынудило меня начать новый топик ...

когда строят новое - понимаю, но когда так радикально модернизируют старое это вызывает вопросы ... зачем?... в своё время мы згноил или разобрали послевоенные эсминцы, так может стоило таки ремонтировать и модернизировать?...

511, 512, 513, 514, 518, 509, 510, 519, 520, 551, 552, 533, 534, two for Egypt, 543, 553, 554, 555, 545,
556 (to Bangladesh), 557, 544, 558, 560, 561, 559, 562 and 563. The last of class 563 completed in
February 1996. Reports that construction had restarted in 1997 were incorrect.
Modernisation: Fire control and electronics equipment are being modernised. Sun Visor and Rice
Lamp have been seen on newly refitted Type Is. Possible VDS or sonar towed array may be fitted in one
of the class. The latest ships starting with Zigong have gunhouses on the 37 mm guns and a new
air/surface search radar.
Structure: All of the class have the same hull dimensions. Previously reported Type numbers have
been superseded by the following designations:
Type I has at least five versions. Version 1 has an oval funnel and square bridge wings; version 2 a
square funnel with bevelled bridge face; version 3 an octagonal funnel; version 4 reverts back to the
oval funnel and version 5 has a distinctive fluting arrangement with cowls on the funnel, as well as
gunhouses on the 37 mm guns. Some have bow bulwarks.
Type II. See separate entry.
Types III and IV. See separate entry.
Operational: 520 paid off in 1993. Ten are based in the Eastern Fleet, three in the North and the
remainder in the South.
Sales: Two have been transferred to Egypt, one in September 1984, the other in March 1985, and one,
Xiangtan 556, to Bangladesh in November 1989.

... это только предположение - всётаки это фрегат ... помому на основе этог проекта строили потом корабли пло и верталёт там таки был как и ангар ...
